We've been living in our maisonette apartment for over 8 months now, and it's feeling a lot like home! We've shared a lot of photos over the past few months and have had several people ask us where certain things were purchased from, so I thought we would put a little post together.
The living area is where we spend most of our time together. Countless hours of Breaking Bad and laughs with friends.
The sofa is an Abingdon 4 Seater Modular Sofa (Misty Grey available from £849. The TV is the Fonteyn Media Unit from Made.com, and was one of the more expensive purchases we made at £499. You can get £15 off anything from Made.com by using discount code 'HQ1VK5VAY7'.
The rug is from IKEA's Stockholm Rug collection, and was a great bargain at £160. The blue throw/blanket was also a bargain from IKEA.
The cardboard storage boxes were also an IKEA bargains, and the coffee table was a great eBay find - we believe it is from the 1960's, making it 22-31 years older than ourselves!
We picked the plant (which is slowing growing into a full size tree!) up
NYC, what a city! Alex & I absolutely loved it. We spent five nights in New York City and got the majority of what we wanted to do done. If you don't want to rush around like headless chickens, we'd recommend another night or two! We visited from 25th September to the 30th September, a great time to visit. We didn't have a drop of rain and it was low-mid 20ºC the entire time we were there, perfect weather for walking around all day!
We shopped on 5th Avenue, visited the Empire State Building Observation Deck & Rockefeller Top of the Rock (we recommend doing both; Empire State Building in the morning/afternoon and Rockefeller Center in the evening when it's dark). We also chilled out in the New York Public Library and Grand Central Terminal; both great places to watch the world go by.
We visited the 9/11 Tribute Center, did a little more shopping on 5th Ave and chilled out in Times Square in the evening; incredibly touristy but well worth spending an evening there. We really enjoyed spending our evening at the Jekyll & Hyde Club - decent food and yard glasses
At the weekend we decided to go for a little walk up in the woods. I haven't been up there in years, and it was Alex's first time. I almost forgot that there is so much land to explore just a mile away from our house! The official name of the area is 'Fox Covert Nature Reserve', but no one really knows that.
Other than to enjoy the fresh air, my main excuse for dragging Alex out was purely to take a few photos. I recently got my hands on the VSCO Film kits for Lightroom 4 and wanted to play with them! Here are a few I quite liked.
